The department has eight endowed scholarships for undergraduate EE students:

Carlin

--named for D. Robert Carlin (LUEE '56), Associate Professor Emeritus, initiated by Donna Young (LUEE '01) and endowed by alumni and friends of LUEE.

Cherry

--named for Lloyd B. Cherry,the first chair of LUEE and Dean of the College of Engineering from 1968 to 1973. Endowed by alumni and friends of LUEE.

 

Cooke

--named for Dr. James T. Cooke, a Professor of EE from 1956 until his retirement in 1991. Initiated by Dr. Wendell Bean (LUEE '55) and endowed by alumni and friends of LUEE.

 

Crum

--named for Regents Professor Floyd Crum and endowed by Charles Garrett (LUEE '59).

 

Domino

--named for Joseph F. Domino and endowed by Linda and Joe Domino (LUEE '75).

 

Garrett

--named for Charles and Eleanor Garrett and endowed by Charles Garrett (LUEE '59).

Harlow

--named for Robert Harlow (LUEE '71) and endowed by Lila and Hunter Henry.

Watt

--named for Dr. Joseph T. Watt, Jr., a Professor of EE from 1965 until his retirement in 1996. Initiated by LUEE Associate Professor Dr. Gangireddy Reddy and endowed by alumni and friends of LUEE.



Since these scholarships are endowed, the amount generated by their principal varies and is awarded in accordance with the wishes of the donor(s). Alumni and friends are encouraged to donate to the principal of the scholarships of their choice or to contribute to the unrestricted account, which is used to supplement scholarship funds or provide special incentives for students. Please contact the department if you wish to contribute.

Graduate student scholarships and fellowships are awarded by the department dependent on allocations from the graduate school.
