Lamar and the Electrical Engineering Department
Lamar
University is located in Beaumont
(pop. 114,000) in southeast Texas. Beaumont is on Interstate 10,
ninety miles east of Houston and thirty miles west of the Texas-Lousiana
border.
Directions
to Lamar University

Take
Interstate 10 to the 69 South exit.

Travel
south on 287-69 towards Port Authur for about five miles.

Take
the Martin Luther King (MLK) Parkway exit.

Take
left on Martin Luther King Parkway and go approximately one
half mile. The university is on the left.
The
Electrical Engineering Department is in the Cherry Engineering Building
To
get to the Cherry Engineering Building:

The
Cherry Building is located at the southwest corner of East
Virginia and Rolfe Christopher. East Virginia "turns
into" Rolfe Christopher at the intersection.

Visitor
Parking is located to the north of the Plummer Administration
Building. To get there you need to cross MLK Parkway at East
Lavaca and return southeast on the feeder road past the Galloway
Business Building.

Visitors
may also park in the open student parking lot between Brooks-Shivers
Hall and Speech and Hearing Building. These two buildings
are on Rolfe Christopher.

The
Electrical Engineering Department is located on the second
floor of the Cherry Building in Room 2000.
