| 08/28 | There is an error in the book relating to the error plots for computer Prob 1.1, 1.2, 1.3: The vertical scale should be log(error) not -log(error). |
| 09/06 | In computer problem1.1-3 on page 17, the second term of the number should read f(x-h). |
| 09/16 | The first Midterm Exam will be on 09/23/2002 covering Chapters 1,2 and 3. You may expect closed and open book parts. |
| 10/14 | The second Midterm Exam will be held on 21 Oct 2002, Part A- Closed Book, Part B- Open Book & Notes. |
| 11/15 | Each student will suggest a project
involving the numerical solutions to a practical engineering/mathematical
problem that is solvable by applying numerical techniques from later
chapters in the text. The project must involve the writing of a computer
code to solve the problem.
Student should not start work on his or her project untill the propsed project is approved. Project presentations will be conducted on Nov 20, 22, 25, 27th and Dec 2 nd from 10:10 A.M to 11:00A.M. |
| 11/27 | Final Exam will be held on 11 December, 2002 at 11:00A.M to 1:30P.M |
